Follow along through the planning, building, and racing of a first-generation Mazda RX-7 in the SCCA/CalClub PRO7 club racing series.

The intent of the PRO7 racing class is to provide an affordable racing series by allowing limited modifications and requiring specified components in order to provide close competition.

reenmachine racing    PRO7 is all about large grids, close, close competition, tough, relatively inexpensive cars, and FUN. Most importantly, it’s about good people. The PRO7 family is among the friendliest, most helpful bunch of people I’ve ever run into (no pun intended), always willing to lend a spare part during an event or some barbeque and a cold one afterwards.

This site is dedicated to sharing the trials, tribulations, good times, bad times, ins, outs, and lessons learned "the hard way" when building and campaigning a PRO7 car.

Special thanks go to Tom & Bette Dragoun, Eric & Leroy, and everybody at 7s Only Racing at Buttonwillow Raceway Park. Tom is the man and deserves most of the credit for making PRO7 what it is today.
